Town of Okotoks is now organizing First Saturdays!

Thank you for your ongoing interest and support of First Saturdays. As we transition the First Saturdays event over to the Town of Okotoks, we will be closing this Facebook page. We encourage you to use the Town’s Facebook page, the Okotoks Culture Facebook page and the Town’s Twitter feed to stay up to date on First Saturdays. Additionally, the list of monthly activities can always be found on the Town’s event calendar.

 

We look forward to seeing you in Olde Towne Okotoks for the final First Saturday of this year on November 3rd! And don’t forget to mark your calendars for next year’s festival dates: May 1, June 1, July 6, Aug 3 and finally for Aug 31: a special [almost] First Saturdays event.

United Way Okotoks partners with First Saturday and Harvest Fest

Join us at Ethel Tucker Park from 11am – 4pm for an old fashioned carnival, games for kids of all ages -  milk can toss, bull roping, western shoot out, cow bean bag toss, etc.  Prizes for everyone!  

Live music featuring local artists Abbie Thurgood (11am) and Tanya Ryan (noon)

Make sure to drop by the Paint it Up Pottery table to paint a fridge magnet or make a dog print—all proceeds will go to the United Way!   

All funds raised here, stay here to benefit our community.  Did you know that in 2011, nearly 5,000 individuals in Okotoks and area accessed the programs and services funded by the United Way Partnership? 

 

Neumann Gallery and Studio

Choco and the Alphabet Book Launch, the third book in a series about a miniature horse named Choco, written and illustrated by Mike McGann.  The adorable real horse that inspired the series, Choco, will be here visiting from 12:30 to 3:30 to meet his fans.  Mike will also be here to autograph books and answer questions. First Saturdays is a monthly festival of Arts & Culture in Olde Towne Okotoks, presented by the Okotoks Arts Council.  On the first Saturday of each month, art venues, organizations, restaurants, and boutiques in Okotok’s Olde Towne offer a mix of special activities including art exhibitions, theatre, markets, live music, talks, tours, crafts for kids, street performances, wine & food tastings, and special promotions.

Paint it up Pottery on First Saturday Aug 4th

Watch for Paint it up Pottery at the Municipal Centre (5 Elizabeth St) - we will be playing with clay stop by and see what we are all about at this event is free!  Sign up for our September Kids Clay Club buy one and get the second for half price!
